Fall 2024 Training

Coach K Lacrosse Clinics are the ONLY clinics in Westport where your son can be coached by the Staples HS coaches. There is no other summer clinic in town that can offer this! 

Coach K Lacrosse Clinics are designed for boys lacrosse players from any town, in Kindergarten through 8th grade in the 2024 - 2025 school year. Players will be split up by age and ability to make sure every player has the best experience for the week. 

Fall Weekday Clinics in Westport!

The Weekday Fall Clinic is a fun instructional clinic for lacrosse players in Kindergarten through 8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year. These sessions will be designed to get players in town excited and passionate about lacrosse. The clinics will be designed with station work, competitions, skill challenges, and relay races at the younger ages, and skills and drills plus competitions for the older ages.

Monday and/or Thursday

Players can sign up for either day or both days.

Mondays:
Sept. 24th
Oct. 7th, 14th, 21st

Thursdays:
Sept. 26th
Oct. 10th, 17th, 24th

All sessions are at the Wakeman C/D Grass Field from 4:45 - 5:45pm.

Single Day registration cost = $175
Both Day registration cost = $275

Coach K’s Election Day Clinic

• On Tuesday November 5th we will be holding our 5th Annual Election Day Clinic for boys lacrosse players in Kindergarten - 8th Grade 

• Election Day Clinic will return in the same format as 2023!

• Date: Tuesday November 5th

• Location: Staples Stadium, Staples HS

• Ages: Kindergarten through 8th Grade

• Time: 8:30 - 10:30am - Kindergarten through 8th Grade

• Cost: $75

• ADD-ON OPTION: Election Day 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Elite Position Development w/ Whiteboard & Film Study

• 6th, 7th, and 8th graders can add on a 75 minute position based skill session with our Staples HS coaches. The Elite Position Development Session will be limited to 12 spots per group and will include both on field and "classroom" instruction. Players will be broken up into offensive & defensive groups to work with our coaches on the fine details needed to be the best.

Spring 2025 Training

Coach K’s Westport Preseason - Boys

Back for the sixth year is the Westport Youth Lacrosse Preseason! This year’s program will once again be presented by Coach K Lacrosse. We have sessions for all lacrosse players from Kindergarten through 8th grade. These sessions will take place during the weeks leading up to the Westport PAL tryouts. All sessions will be designed and run by Coach Koshansky, Coach Anderson, Coach Jacowleff, Coach Griffin, and the rest of the Staples High School coaching staff.

The idea in holding these sessions is to give all of our boys an opportunity to prepare themselves for the spring season. These clinics will be designed to improve and fine tune our players skills and to get them back out on the field competing before the team practices begin. All players in our program are invited to attend. It will be an awesome opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season and build camaraderie between classmates.

The design of the practices will include individual and team concept development, small sided game and drill play, as well as full field competitions and scrimmages. Each session will have a focus as determined by the Staples HS coaches. This is the best way to prepare for the upcoming tryouts and spring season.

During sessions, players will be grouped together to maximize everyone’s development and to make the environment as fun as can be. We have kept the cost extremely low to encourage as many players to sign up as possible.

Preseason will take place at Bedford Middle School on the Wakeman B Turf Field. Each grade has been scheduled for four sessions with the goal getting at least three sessions in. We have also reserved Friday of each week as an added makeup day if needed.  If we are able to hold all four sessions there will not be an extra charge. If one day is canceled we will not have a makeup day. If two days are canceled we will use Friday to make up for one of the missed days.

History

In 2022, Coach K Lacrosse created two amazing new opportunities; Lacrosse Training in Shelton and Football & Lacrosse combo clinics in Westport, featuring Staples Football Head Coach Adam Behrends. These two new programs continued to grow the Coach K Lacrosse program to inspire as many youth athletes as possible. In Shelton, we coordinated with the HS and Youth Lacrosse - both boys & girls - programs to help players prepare for the 2022 Spring season. Both groups had a blast and we are excited to return to Shelton in the spring of 2023. In Westport, the combo MultiSport Mania clinic was a huge hit, which featured Lacrosse, Football, Speed/Agility, and Weightroom training for our youth athletes.

The Winter of 2020 & 2021 marked a new step forward for Coach K Lacrosse with two big developments. First, we expanded into girls lacrosse offerings including summer clinics. This will allow both boys and girls to access the great coaching our programming is known for. Nicole Gerosa was added at our Girls Lacrosse Director. Second, we opened the Annex, an indoor training facility dedicated to lacrosse and training young athletes. Youth players of all ages attended sessions focus on improving their lacrosse skills and overall fitness. Two 3v3 Speed Lacrosse Leagues were held at the annex with Championship Winners being crowned in late February. The Annex proved to be the perfect place for our players to prepare for the return of town lacrosse in the Spring of 2021. Following the full reopening of youth sports, we closed down the Annex but it will remain a great period in the growth of Coach K Lacrosse.

The summer of 2019 marked the first official training sessions for Coach K Lacrosse, focused primarily on youth lacrosse development. We will continue to expand our offering as the energy and excitement around our training grows. Be a part of the future of lacrosse training in our area!

Coach K Lacrosse was founded in 2018 to offer training opportunities to players of all ages. The organization was created to allow players the ability to experience high level instruction at a fraction of the typical camp or clinic cost. Coach K is a member of the local community having lived in towns throughout Fairfield County and his mission is to share his passion for the sport with the youth of the area.

 All participants of Coach K Clinics are required to have current US Lacrosse memberships with a US Lacrosse number.
